| Home > Support > FAQs: MicroDrive Limitations with CF Adapters MicroDrive Limitations with CF Adapters Though MicroDrives and CF Type II are compatible with our CF Adapters, these cards have been found to slightly higher than a standard Type I Compact Flash card. The image below shows a side by side comparison of a MicroDrive and a Compact Flash Type I card. The wedges on each side of the MicroDrive card can fit onto any of our CF connectors, but due to the increased height, hardware modifications will be required to allow the MD card to fit into certain adapters. Limitations 1. The following Dual CF to IDE Adapters are only capable of holding a MicroDrive card in the CF1 position.
2. IDE-CF and SATA-CF Adapters have a PCI bracket mount with an opening which is unable to insert a MicroDrive.
