Q. Problem with Lexar 80X media
A. This problem may appear in some of the model AEMFR888D shipped prior to March 2005. Depending on when you purchased the equipment, this problem can be resolved with an upgrade. Please email to tech support if you experience such problem.

Q. Why the remote controller fails when the MFR is connected to a PC/notebook through USB cable?
A. The remote control fails because the MFR is now operating through the USB port not a stand-alone unit anymore. In this case, you should operate the MFR through PC or Notebook controls.
On the other hand, when the MFR is connected to TV, it will be used as a DVD player. You can choose to use remote controller or operating panel to operate the MFR.

Q. Why the image of VCD is darker than the DVD when playing with the MFR?
A. MFR makes no difference when playing DVD or VCD. The image sharpness is determined by the quality of the video (the film quality of VCD is inferior to DVD).

Q. When MFR is connected to PC, why does it appear just one icon of USB Mass Storage rather than two USB mass storage device? In addition, when two memory cards are inserted into both slots, why only one card is accessible?
A. When MFR is connected to PC, DVD-ROM/CD-RW is set as a Master and the 8-in-1-card reader is set as a slave. In this way, only two icons will appear on My Computer, one is for DVD-ROM/CD-RW and the other is for card reader USB Mass Storage Device. That is, only one socket will be detected as USB Mass Storage Device. So when you insert two cards into both sockets at the same time, you only can read the files in CF card as default.

Q. Why does it fail when you insert another memory card on the other slot while it is making a backup function?
A. To protect internal parts/component, it is prohibited to insert any card into the other slot when MFR is processing memory card backup function. Otherwise, MFR will stop CD burning immediately and some files in the CD-R/RW may be unreadable.

Q. How do you properly connect the MFR to a computer?
A. Connect all cables to the MFR and the USB connector to the computer then turn the power on to the MFR.

Q. What kind of Partition does the media requires to work with the MFR?
A. FAT file system is the required partition of the media cards to work with the MFR.

Q. How do you change the MFR from a stand-alone mode to a PC or TV connection?
A. If you move the MFR between a computer and a TV or projector (as a "stand-alone" player), it's required that you switch the MFR power OFF-ON before attaching it to the next device or using as "stand-alone".

Q. How long does it take to charge the MFR's battery?
A. MFR's battery takes 4 hours to fully charge, and 2 hours of drive (playing DVD or CD) activity to fully discharge. MFR will run up to 4 hours on a full battery charge if it's being used solely to play image(s) from memory cards.

Q. How to change the DVD region code of the MFR?
A. DVD REGION CODING - International DVD Viewing
By default, MFR is programmed to accept Region-1 DVD movies. This allows playback of DVD movies produced for the United States and Canada. To set the MFR to play a DVD for another region (such as Region-2: Europe, Japan, the Middle East, Egypt, South Africa and Greenland), connect MFR to a PC running Windows and insert the DVD movie produced for another region. Windows will prompt you to set the region within MFR, and will inform you of the number of remaining region changes still available.
Q. How to switch from NTSC or PAL?
A. If you need to switch from NTSC to PAL using the small switch on the side of MFR, it must be powered ON and not connected to a computer while you're moving the switch.
