Jupiter IDE enclosure (no encryption) Jumper Settings

Please check on the Drive Cradle for the revision of the board.


Jupiter Drive Cradle REV B2

External Hard Drive Mode and Removable Drive Mode

This is the correct setting for all configurations.

J1: short Pin 3 and Pin 5

(Factory Default Settings)

 

Jupiter Drive Cradle REV B1

External Hard Drive Mode

J4: All pins open

J1: short Pin 3 and Pin 5

This is the correct setting when the enclosure is used:

  1. As an external hard drive
  2. As a removable hard drive via the USIB drive cradle or
  3. As a removable hard drive via IDE drive cradle operating in PIO mode only

Removable Drive Mode

J4: All pins open

J1: short Pin 1 and Pin 4, Pin 2 and Pin 3

This is the correct setting when the enclosure is used:

  1. As a removable hard drive via IDE drive cradle with full DMA support
  2. As a removable hard drive cradle via IDE drive cradle + IDE – USB converter
  3. As a removable hard drive cradle via IDE drive cradle + IDE – SATA converter
