How do I create a CDROM DOS BOOTDISK?

Please follow the steps below in order, need windows95 or windows98

  1. You will need to create a bootable floppy disk. From the DOS prompt type in:

    A: Type (Format a:/s) or

    B: from Windows98 (open the my computer icon then right click on the floppy drive A
    then click format to open another window.
    when the new window opens up, choose the quick format or the full format.
    then click on the BOX that says copy system files

  2. Copy the MSCDEX.EXE to the floppy disk. This file is a MICROSOFT copyrighted file.
    You can find it on any Windows computer and on Windows installation floppy disks.

  3. Download BOOTDISK.EXE from the drivers page and copy it to the floppy.

  4. Execute BOOTDISK (Either double click on BOOTDISK or at the

    A:\ prompt type in BOOTDISK.

  5. Restart the computer with the floppy disk inserted.

 

HardDrive BOOTDISK (Pocket EXDrive and Combo Hard Drive) 

How do I create a DOS Hard Drive BOOTDISK?

Answer: Please follow the steps below in order to create one.

1. You will need to create a bootable floppy disk. From the DOS prompt type in
(you will need to do this on a win95 or win98 machine)

A: Type (Format a:/s) or 

B: from Windows (open the my computer icon then right click on the floppy drive A
then click format to open another window.
when the new window opens up, choose the quick format or the full format.
then click on the BOX that says copy system files.

2. Copy the three files from the HDBOOTDISK folder to the diskette.
