The Addonics 5X1 eSATA Hardware Port Multiplier (HPM) offers great performance and flexibility for building a reliable external hardware RAID storage. Connects up to 5 SATA / SATA II hard drives to any computer via a standard eSATA port, this HPM is compatible with any SATA controller, RAID or non RAID. Once the RAID configuration is set up, the entire RAID set can be moved to any computer. In addition, with the Addonics optional eSATA - USB adapter, the same RAID set can be attached to any computer via a USB 2.0 port.
Build to fit perfectly into the Addonics family of Storage Tower and many standard 2 bays or larger SCSI enclosure, the 5 hard drives can be set up as individual drives, as RAID set or as JBOD to become one large hard drive. When multiple HPMs are combined with any Addonics PM compatible 4-Port eSATA controller or 4 USB 2.0 ports, you can attach externally a whopping 20 SATA hard drives to your computer!
