The internal SATA/USB DigiDrive is part of Addonics' advanced generation of internal Flash memory reader/writers. Designed to mount directly into a standard 3.5" drive bay, the internal SATA/USB DigiDrive connects to practically any flash memory media, including the latest SDHC and SDXC standards, on any system or equipment via a high speed SATA or USB interface. When connected to a SATA port, any flash media can be used as a bootable device with read/write speed of up to 150MB/sec.
The internal SATA/USB DigiDrive comes with upgradeable firmware to ensure compatibility with future Flash standards. There is also the choice of a READ only model, an ideal solution for forensic applications.
I'm about as pleased as I can be with the Addonics eSATA/USB DigiDrive and I am willing to bet that at the time of this writing (August, 2010) you'd be hard pressed to find a faster flash card reader on the planet.View article

Firmware version AESKW528. This firmware makes the flash media to appear as removable disk using eSATA or SATA connection irregardless of the switch setting on the drive. This feature is to make the media useable by certain software designed to work with removable media only. Using this firmware, the flash media can no longer be used for booting as most OS do not support booting from removable disk. Please make this firmware request by creating a ticket to our tech support department http://www.addonics.com/support/ticketid/create.asp.
