The Ultimate PC Award program, now in its second year, is sponsored by CMP Media's CRN, the newsweekly for builders of technology.

The Ultimate PC event is a live demonstration where the Product and Technology Review Department of CRN, the Test Center, build the "Ultimate PC" to see how far limits can be pushed with today's technology, by selecting best-of-breed components. The 2002 Ultimate PC Awards recognized outstanding technology vendors in 18 product categories, including CD Drive; Display; Floppy Drive; Hard Disk/Performance; Hard Disk/Capacity; Keyboard; Memory Modules; Motherboard, Mouse; Network Interface Card; Power Supply; Processor; SCSI HBA; Sound System; Speaker System; System Cabinet; Value-Added Component; and Video System.
