Addonics' All-In-One Drive

(Electronic Publishing) -- Mar. 11, 2002 -- Addonics Technologies (Fremont, CA) announced the Mobile DVD/CD-RW, an external DVD/CD-RW/CD-ROM all-in-one drive with high-speed FireWire, CardBus, and USB 2.0 interfaces. The Mobile DVD/CD-RW drive features a 12x DVD player, a 12x CD-RW burner, and a 40x CD-ROM drive. This drive can record data to CD-RW media in five models -- Track at Once, Multisession, Disc at Once, Session at Once, and Packet Writing. Addonics bundles CD mastering software and MPEG-2 decoding software for DVD movie playback with the drive. Every drive enables users to connect to USB, FireWire, or CardBus ports on any computer by switching to the appropriate Addonics interface cable. The list price for the Mobile DVD/CD-RW drive starts at $399 (USB version).
