New Pocket SuperDisk Can Handle 240MB Disks

(Mac Central Online ) -- May 31, 2001 -- Addonics Technologies has rolled out its Pocket SuperDisk 240, a Mac compatible 240MB transportable drive with a USB interface.

Weighing less than 12 ounces, the SuperDisk 240 will read/write data onto the new 240MB (LS-240) disk media. And it's backward compatible with SuperDisk 120 media and standard 1.44 MB floppy disks. It has a data transfer rate of 600 Kbytes per second.

The Pocket SuperDisk is USB 2.0 compatible, but runs at USB 1.0 speed. The folks at Addonics say that the drive is automatically recognized by the Mac OS 9.x (no word yet on Mac OS X support).

The list price for the Pocket SuperDisk 240 is US$199. It's available now.
