The RAID Tower IX is built basing on the Storage Tower IX platform that features nine 5.25" drive bays in a sturdy steel  chassis with an acrylic front bezel. Depending on the model, up to fifteen 3.5" hard drives can be installed into the RAID Tower IX. The drives can be configured as a RAID set or as individual drives and be connected to the computer via high speed eSATA or USB 3.0 / 2.0 connection. Depending on model, you can also share the storage on the RAID Tower on LAN by attaching to the optional Addonics NAS adapter. Each model comes with everything required for connecting to the computer. All is needed is to add your own hard drives and configure the RAID via either a set of dip switches or the included Windows software utility.
